The board also heard that the Say Something reporting platform — a free program that allows anonymous reporting via app or web — has been set up and that tips are processed through the program’s central intake (the meeting referenced the Sandy Hook processing center). Staff described a triage process: tips are ranked by seriousness and routed to school and law-enforcement contacts as appropriate.
On communications, staff said ParentSquare has been rolled out for district messaging and that some users experience account-switching issues when toggling teacher/parent views; the district continues to send messages by email and phone for critical items such as bus messages. The business and technology staff discussed possibilities for surfacing lunch account balances in ParentSquare or PowerSchool so families see balances directly when opening those systems; the district’s meal vendor system (Mosaic) already sends automated emails at set balances, and staff said they will explore tighter integration to reduce surprise meal debts.
There was no formal board action; staff will continue training and explore system integrations to improve family notifications.
