District outlines summer staffing, safety and operations work ahead of school year

Senior district staff told the Okaloosa County School Board that extensive summer work has prepared schools for the Aug. 11 start of the school year, including hiring, classrooms and safety preparations.
Grant Meyer, senior staff presenter, said departments across the district used the summer to finalize initiatives under the district vision and prepare for the new school year. “There’s so much going on, and to take just a few minutes is only gonna briefly cover what we do over the summer,” Meyer said.
