McKinney resident urges city inspection after hole threatens her home

Florine Henry, a longtime McKinney resident, told the City Council on Aug. 5 that an excavation adjacent to her home has created a large, deep hole that she said is up to her back door and is endangering the structure.
Henry said she has “talked to some attorneys” and appealed to the council and staff to inspect and address the damage. “Please help me save my home,” she said. “That hole is there. It's deep and it's growing.”
Henry gave her address as 905 South Murray Street and said she has lived in McKinney her whole life. She said the excavation was performed by a contractor the city had sent and that she will pursue legal remedies if the city does not act. She asked for a city representative to “come out there and look” before she takes further steps.
