Councilman Miller asked how much the insurance payout had been; staff said the payout was about $18,000 and that those funds returned to the police vehicle fund. Committee members discussed upfitting costs and that additional purchases and upfitting decisions are coordinated with Lieutenant Stewart; the number of additional detective vehicles to be purchased was not specified in the meeting.
Staff said the purchase had already been made to secure the used vehicle and that no additional committee approval was required for this specific transaction under the cited procurement delegation. No formal committee action or vote was requested or recorded for the vehicle purchase.
