Representatives from Leadership Brentwood presented three community projects to the Brentwood Board of Commissioners during the meeting.
Lynn Tucker, executive director of Leadership Brentwood, introduced the class projects and said the group completes three projects each year for the city. Jason Dill, city engineer and a member of the Leadership Brentwood class, described his team's work at a children’s home: volunteers cleared an old storage closet, repaired damaged items and provided amenities. “You can see, we had about a $4,000 goal, we reached our goal,” Dill said, and reported minor project injuries and equipment damage but otherwise successful completion.
A second team, Jet Set Artisans, described a community-funded mural planned for a hangar structure at the new Windy Hill Park. The presenters said local contributions raised about $18,000 to pay local artists and install a commemorative mural honoring the Sensing family and the site’s history as a small airstrip.
A third team, the “Show Up” team, focused on the Brentwood Library. Presenters said the team cleaned and rehabilitated the library amphitheater, installed two picnic tables (one ADA accessible and one with a chess table), and supplied outdoor games to encourage educational play; the team reported raising $11,750 to complete the work.
Commissioners thanked the Leadership Brentwood participants and noted the program’s track record of civic projects and volunteer partnerships.
