Huerfano County accepts Fort Orange Press proposal for ballot printing and mailing

The Huerfano County Board of County Commissioners voted to accept a proposal from Fort Orange Press to print and mail ballots for upcoming elections.
Elections staff said Fort Orange Press had proposed testing color and new printing machines before production and that the vendor has worked with the county to resolve prior problems. "They have some new premium machines and some new Other machines to test their color as well before they get it sent off to us," the county staff presenter said.
The staff noted the proposal’s quoted amount does not include postage. "So it does not include our, postage. Okay. Which they they never do. They they charge us separately for our postage," the presenter said.
Commissioners called for a vote after a motion to accept the proposal was made and seconded. When the board voted, Commissioners Moreno, Commissioner Chen and Chairman Spooley voted yes and the motion passed.
The county did not provide in the meeting a line-item breakdown of services or the final total including postage. Staff said pricing used prior election volumes to estimate costs. No contract number or effective contract term was specified in the public discussion.
