Planning Commission clears 51,000 sq ft JSP International expansion; TUA pretreatment check flagged as condition

The Planning Commission voted 6–0 to approve a site plan for a 51,000‑square‑foot expansion of JSP International’s manufacturing building on Parham Drive.
Kenny Sadler, the design engineer for JSP International LLC, said the expansion will increase the company’s manufacturing capacity behind the existing facility. Planning staff said reviews with the city’s Design Advisory Committee and consultants have been completed and outstanding comments are primarily administrative.
Sam Luthy, planning staff, informed the commission that the local utility authority (referred to in the meeting as “TUA”) has raised the possibility that the expanded facility may require industrial wastewater pretreatment before tying into the utility’s sewer system. “Because of the capacity of this building and what they're gonna be doing, they will require or they may require industrial pretreatment,” Luthy said. Staff requested that JSP coordinate with TUA to determine whether pretreatment will be required; TUA indicated any required pretreatment must be resolved before permitting for sewer connection.
Commissioners were also told the city engineer requested hard‑copy documents be submitted to a staff member named Nina before final permitting can proceed. With those conditions noted, Mr. Rice moved to approve the JSP International expansion site plan; Ms. McGee seconded. The motion passed 6–0.
