The Trumbull County Board of Commissioners conducted routine business on Aug. 6 and approved a series of motions by unanimous roll-call votes. The following is a summary of actions taken on items listed on the meeting agenda.
Key approvals and contract awards - Approved minutes and accepted video recordings as official minutes for the July 29 and July 30 workshop and regular meetings. - Approved bills, additional appropriations and transfers of appropriations. - Authorized purchase of small structures from Millcraft Barnes for the Trumbull County Fairgrounds 4-H building project, $25,298.52 (paid from ARPA funds). - Concurred with the county engineer to grant special annual supplier fleet permits to P & T Leasing Inc., KMB Inc. (increase of $3,000, revised contract amount $37,621.90) for the countywide Phase 3 sanitary lateral assistance program to extend a lateral for 1710 State Route 7 in Brookfield Township. - Awarded the Sheridan Drive Sanitary Sewer Improvements project to MJD Excavating Inc.; primary bid $441,742, plus secondary items totaling $186,550, for a total contract amount of $628,292.
Personnel and advisory appointments - Accepted resignations: Bethany Giardis, utility account clerk 2, Trumbull County Sanitary Engineers Department, effective 08/05/2025; Nicholas Clark, plant maintenance worker, Trumbull County Sanitary Engineers Department, effective 08/01/2025. - Reappointed Laura Dimitrovich as director of youth programs for the Trumbull County Mental Health and Recovery Board to serve on the Northeast Ohio Regional Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Council (Ohio Children27s Trust Fund), second of two consecutive terms allowable under ORC section 3.109.172. - Appointed Nanette M. Moyer and Mitchell M. Paxton to the Trumbull County Senior Services Advisory Council for the terms listed on the agenda.
Procurement and solicitation - Authorized the clerk to advertise for sealed bids for supplying gasoline and diesel fuel to Trumbull County.
Budget overview - Approved item 25 authorizing additional budgetary allocations across departments as discussed at the Aug. 5 workshop; commissioners said current revenue trends and conservative earlier budgeting make the allocations feasible without borrowing or dipping into reserves at this time.
