New Caney ISD staff gives bond update, lists timelines for Westport, McKinney, Fort High and new schools

Fort High School remains in design following the board's recent architect approval; planned work includes covered practice facilities, arts additions and renovations, expanded CTE spaces, turf field work and other renovations. The staff member reported a recently completed lighting project for the Fort High athletic fields and said the district expects the larger Fort High work to be wrapped up by summer 2028, given the number of moving parts.
The district also approved an architect last month for a future Elementary 13 and described a BEST program (behavioral, emotional and social training) that will establish four classrooms to support students across the district.
