Committee endorses $1.87 million bid for Depot renovation phase 2

The Cheyenne Finance Committee recommended accepting a bid not to exceed $1,874,421 from Richardson Construction Inc. for phase 2 of the Depot renovation, which the city says will address interior finishes, plaza safety and visitor amenities ahead of the 2026 event season.

Jason Sanchez, community recreation and events, described the work as interior renovations to the second and third floors, removal of half walls to create a larger workspace, replacement of carpeting, repainting, renovation of the break room into two rooms and plaza improvements including replacing a center concrete strip with brick laid in a train-track pattern. Sanchez said the project would also add a shade structure east of the splash pad to replace a white tent and reduce obstructions to stage views.
