Santa Cruz Valley Unified District recognizes summer lifeguards at Aquatic Center

The Santa Cruz Valley Unified School District No. 35 recognized its summer lifeguard team at the July 22 governing-board meeting, thanking lifeguards for supervision, swim lessons and supporting public rentals during the facility—irst full summer of operation.

A district staff member who presented the recognition said the Aquatic Center—irst opened full time this year and that the district fielded a team of 25 lifeguards for the season. The presenter said the pool recorded "more than 1,700 individuals visited the Aquatic Center in just the last two months."
