Amanda, city staff, asked the board on Oct. 8 whether the Municipal Development District wanted recordings of its meetings posted to the city website and YouTube channel. Staff said recordings would not be live-streamed; instead, videos would be uploaded after each meeting and linked from the agendas and minutes page.
Board members discussed storage costs, technical reliability and public accessibility. Amanda said many recordings would be stored on YouTube and that only a limited local operating copy would be retained by the city; staff does not currently plan to remove posted videos. She estimated videos could be posted within about a week after meetings, subject to a short post-production cleanup.
Board members suggested the city secretary be the intake point for public questions generated after people watch recordings; Amanda agreed to that approach and offered to add contact language to video descriptions. Members also noted that videos provide a quicker way for residents who cannot attend regular business-hour meetings to see how votes and discussions occurred.
The board approved a motion to post MDD meeting video recordings on the city website and the city's YouTube channel by voice vote. Staff will implement the posting process, coordinate retention and provide a contact point for follow-up inquiries if the board or city determines a dedicated process is needed.
