Nicholas Duciani, vice president and chair of the Marketing and Project Opportunity Subcommittee, told the board on Oct. 8 that the committee has met multiple times and researched what the district can and cannot fund under city plans.
The committee's primary recommendation is to hold a brainstorming workshop in late November or early December to gather ideas from the full board and draft a strategic plan. Committee members said the session would help generate outreach approaches, identify project opportunities beyond the limited developable land within city limits, and move the district from passive to proactive project solicitation.
Staff and committee members discussed possible dates; Amanda said she would circulate a list and use a scheduling tool to identify the date that works for all board members. The group recommended blocking two hours for the session.
No formal vote was required; the board expressed support for scheduling a special meeting for the workshop and asked staff to coordinate dates by email.
