Fair Oaks Ranch gateway monument reaches substantial completion; final invoice cleared

The Fair Oaks Ranch Municipal Development District marked the substantial completion of the city's Gateway Monument project on Sept. 18 and approved payment up to the contract's not-to-exceed amount after final invoice validation.
Kelsey Delgado, project manager for the City of Fair Oaks Ranch, told the Municipal Development District board on Oct. 8 that the city's Gateway Monument reached substantial completion on Sept. 18.
Delgado said contractor crews are finishing a small punch list that includes getting electrical service connected through CPS and establishing vegetation at the monument. The city held a ribbon-cutting on Sept. 26; Delgado brought a photographic exhibit documenting the construction progression to the Oct. 8 meeting.
The board noted the project is the district's first completed capital project. Board members said the accomplishment reflects the work required to establish the district's application and project policies. The board chair said she had requested the final invoice and that she had validated project costs against the contract.
Because costs were within the contract, the board authorized paying the remainder up to the previously approved not-to-exceed amount.
Board members and staff thanked the Municipal Development District for its support in bringing the monument to completion and noted the monument now serves as a visible gateway to the city.
The board did not take additional action beyond authorizing final payment consistent with the contract and closing the project punch list.
