Amy Pendarvis, executive assistant to the county manager, presented a draft Board of County Commissioners calendar for 2026 on Oct. 21 and reviewed adjustments for elections, CCI conferences and joint meeting scheduling with Aspen.
Pendarvis said the draft calendar already accounts for Jewish holidays and the usual September schedule; she noted the November election week adjustment (regular meeting moved to Wednesday, work session to Thursday). She asked the board for input on a winter retreat usually scheduled around February and said she is coordinating with counterparts in Aspen and other partners to lock in joint meeting dates.
Commissioners discussed travel conflicts for planned airport trips to Jackson Hole and Bozeman in February and the need to coordinate dates so more board members can attend. Commissioner Patty suggested using an availability doodle for travel dates; commissioners agreed staff should assemble possible dates, include architects and consultants, and circulate to the board.
Pendarvis said she will add regional conference dates (CCI and NACO) and other partner calendars to avoid overlap and will bring a final calendar back for approval once additional dates are confirmed.
Ending: The board asked staff to return with a refined calendar and proposed retreat dates after confirming partner schedules; staff will not publish final dates until the board has another chance to review the draft.
