Benton County supervisors approved a utility permit allowing USA Communications to install a new fiber line in the northern corporate limits of Belle Plain, covering portions of 70 Seventh Street and 20 First Avenue.
County staff said USA Communications owns the former Creek Exchange area and had submitted a permit to place a proposed line running east from Tenth Street to the water tower, then along Eleventh Avenue to a nearby residence. Staff noted the company uses Slick Communications for much of its work and recommended approving the permit. The board agreed to the recommendation and also authorized the chair to sign the permit form.
A board member moved to approve the utility permit and the motion carried. Staff said they would provide the signed permit to the applicant and that routine utility-permit conditions and county oversight would apply during construction.
