Council awards Westfield Center renovation contracts for wall, flooring, ceiling and siding

Parks and Recreation Director Tim Beaker reported the following awards after staff reviewed three bids for each scope: - Dividing wall replacement: Gardner Voss, $54,313.30 (most comprehensive qualified bid). - Flooring replacement (hallways, kitchenette, fireplace room and main banquet hall): Joe's Carpet, $34,674 (lowest qualified bid). - Full building drop-ceiling replacement: Dennis Balk Construction, $53,600 (lowest qualified bid). - Siding, soffit, gutters and trim replacement: Excel Home Improvements, $37,820 (most comprehensive qualified bid).
Councilman Perugy asked what vetting staff performed on the contractors; Director Beaker said staff reviewed contractor experience, prior work with the city on other projects, and contacted references where appropriate. Council approved each contract by motion and support; the record shows unanimous approval for the listed contracts.
