Limestone County Commission approves $3.76 million in claims, jail medical contract amendment and routine business

The Limestone County Commission approved $3,763,586.18 in claims and a series of routine business items at a regular meeting, including a contract amendment for inmate medical services, three community corrections grants, personnel actions, and approval of two subdivisions.
The claims approval passed unanimously. Commissioners also voted to approve a contract amendment with Turnkey Health for inmate medical services at the county jail; the amendment was presented with a term read aloud at the meeting as Nov. 1, 2025, through Sept. 30, 1926 (the end date as read at the meeting appears to be a typographical error in the record). The Turnkey Health amendment was approved by unanimous vote.
The commission approved three Memoranda of Understanding awarding community-corrections grants: $14,169 for the Limestone Veterans Treatment Court, $24,814 for the Limestone County Drug Court and $21,798 for Family Treatment Court. Those grants were approved unanimously.
Other fiscal and administrative actions approved included participation in a Walmart pay-by-invoice purchasing program (approved unanimously) and a budget revision of $8,600 (approved unanimously). The commission approved merit increases, multiple personnel actions and hires, and several administrative inventory changes, all by unanimous votes.
Personnel approvals taken in a single motion included promoting Jesse Tyler from records and warrants to administrative assistant (effective Nov. 3), promoting Molly Hamilton from tag-and-title clerk II to tag-and-title clerk III, approving Maria Churchillo as dispatcher (effective Nov. 3), and hiring Michael Ferguson and Jonathan White as deputy sheriffs and Ricky Fike as a corrections officer (the latter effective Oct. 20); the three hires were noted as pending drug screening on the record. The commission also approved merit increases and other routine personnel items unanimously.
County Engineer Mark Massey presented two subdivision items. "Paula's Land," described as a minor subdivision for preliminary approval creating one lot in District 1, and "Stony Point Subdivision Phase 1," described as a major subdivision for final approval creating 44 lots in District 2, were both approved by unanimous vote.
The commission approved sale of an item out of District 1 on the GovDeals auction platform, removal of several items from IT inventory, and transfer of a Dodge Dakota from IT to the courthouse inventory; all passed unanimously.
During commissioners' reports, members thanked county engineering staff for recent rapid responses to roadway and construction-site problems. Commissioner Turner praised the department, saying, "Their response for different things that we've asked for problems from, out there has been wonderful." Commissioners also reminded the public of local events including the Veterans Day parade (registration deadline Nov. 6) and a downtown concert, and offered personal remarks supporting Commissioner Daryl Samet, who the record shows is battling liver cancer.
No public hearings, resolutions, or executive session were held. The meeting adjourned with the commission scheduling the next session for 9 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 3.
