Oneida teacher wins national Milken Educator Award; students, volunteers earn statewide recognition

Officials also acknowledged Elizabeth Zachary, chosen by Middle Tennessee State University as a 'True Blue' outstanding freshman (one of 100 students selected), and noted that the district had student and parent volunteer award winners in TSBA competitions. The board approved submitting Scott Gilbert as the district’s nominee for the TSBA volunteer recognition award earlier in the meeting.
The administration asked board members to save the date for a memorial-related event hosted by the Ayers Foundation on May 7 at 8:30 a.m. at the high school and urged board attendance where possible. Other personnel recognitions and volunteer acknowledgements were included in the director’s report and the board packet.
