Susan Murphy, Elbert County assessor, told the Board of County Commissioners on April 9 that the county is in its reappraisal year and that property owners will receive notices of value by mail beginning May 1, 2025.
Murphy said the assessor’s office is in final stages of reappraisal and review. She said the public website will be updated and open with reappraisal information on May 1, including valuation details and instructions on the appeals process, which she said will go through Jane Eyde (as stated at the meeting). Notices will be mailed in postcard format.
Murphy asked property owners to expect the mailed notice and to consult the county website for information on valuation and how to file an appeal.
