The Town of Prosper council on April 8 voted to authorize the town manager to execute a construction agreement awarding Competitive Sealed Bid No. 2025-07-B to Central North Construction LLC for right-of-way landscape enhancements along Prosper Trail for $390,000.
Town staff told the council the project had $700,000 budgeted for design and construction combined, and the $390,000 bid came in under that total. "As of right now, we're under budget, which is good," Mr. Baker said during the council presentation.
Staff described the work as landscaping, irrigation, and edging for landscape beds along roughly two-thirds of a mile of right-of-way. The contract calls for a 120-day construction timeline; staff said they expect to begin work by the end of April with anticipated completion around Sept. 1. Council members asked about the variance in proposed schedules among bidders; Baker said the chosen bid represented the best value despite differences in proposed durations.
The council approved the authorization by voice vote. The motion to award the contract did not include a recorded roll-call tally in the transcript.
The contract award follows the town's competitive sealed proposal process and will move to the town manager for execution. No additional conditions or amendments were recorded in the meeting minutes.
