Harrisburg City Council voted to authorize staff to negotiate and enter a professional services agreement with Conrad Siegel Incorporated for actuarial valuations of other post-employment benefits (OPEB), as required under Governmental Accounting Standards Board Statement No. 75.
Vice President Green summarized the committee review during the budget and finance work session on April 1 and reported that the accounting manager, Mr. Bridal McCutchens, provided a thorough presentation. Green asked colleagues to support the resolution and no council questions were recorded during the legislative session.
The resolution as read into the record authorizes the city “to negotiate and enter into a professional services agreement with Conrad Siegel Incorporated to continue to provide actuarial services consisting of other post employment benefits, OPEB, valuations as required by the government accounting standards board statement number 75.”
Council members recorded a unanimous vote of six yays to zero nays, with Councilwoman Daniels excused. No amendments or conditions were recorded on the floor.
The action authorizes staff to undertake contracting steps; the transcript does not specify contract length, estimated cost, or performance milestones.
