Council confirms Todd Wilson as public works director after one no vote

Councilor Brown said she intended to vote no because she had not yet met the nominee. "I will be forced to, vote no on this. I've not yet had a chance to meet [new Director Wilson]," Brown said during the floor discussion. Several councilors spoke in support of Wilson's community engagement, including prior meetings with the Rocky Ripple town council to discuss flood protection and a site visit related to street flooding on Wallace Avenue.
Supporters emphasized Wilson's outreach to neighborhoods and responsiveness to localized issues. The motion carried 24 to 1.
The council did not record any abstentions or recusals. Implementation and oversight of the Department of Public Works will follow standard departmental reporting channels.
