School building committee awaiting feedback on stage 2 application; Payne Street property discussed

At the April 1 meeting, the School Building Committee provided an update on its Stage 2 application and related planning work. Mark, identified in the meeting as the presenter for the committee, said the group is waiting for feedback from "the right council" on the stage 2 application and is continuing internal work on bonding options.
Mark told the council the committee will assess the town's bonding capacity and consider alternative actions for the Payne Street property in the short term to help bring activity back to the district. "In the meantime, you know, we can internally continue our assessment of our bonding capacity and eventual desire, for bonding and also consider, you know, in the meantime, are there any alternative actions that the town wants to consider, perhaps with the Payne Street property," Mark said.
He said the committee plans to wait until it receives feedback and will then decide whether to proceed with or without that feedback. The committee scheduled a meeting for the following day and described that agenda as light; no binding decisions were made at the council meeting.
Councilor Juan thanked Mark for the update. The council did not vote on any school-building actions at the April 1 meeting.
