The City of Bowie is offering rebates to residents who plant trees, allowing up to three qualifying trees per household, officials said in a city announcement. The program includes 27 eligible tree species; rebate amounts are $75, $100 and $125 depending on the tree, and eligible species include redbuds, dogwoods and oaks.
Tiffany, identified in the announcement as the city's watershed manager, said the program runs through April 30 and is available only to residents within Bowie's incorporated limits. The announcement noted the city also offers a lawn care rebate program and directed residents to cityofbuoy.org/treebaits for more information and a list of eligible species.
