County staff said the donated parcel will give the county its own entrance to Highway 105 near Old Washington and will relieve reliance on the volunteer fire department’s driveway that currently serves county access to the hangar there. Commissioners said Jensen previously donated the hangar land and that the new dedication will improve public safety and access for county vehicles.
The court amended the motion to authorize the county judge to sign the deed after any needed corrections recommended by the county attorney’s office. County staff said the deed was in generally good shape but needed minor adjustments to the land description to eliminate ambiguity about boundaries and acreage.
