New resident applies for SAPA alternate seat; council to vote next week

A new resident with a master’s degree in city planning asked Clarks Summit Borough Council to be considered for an alternate seat on the borough’s SAPA committee.
Luke Dubois told council he moved to the borough in December, has a master’s in city planning from the University of Utah and worked as a long-range planner in Washington state. He said he was interested in participating in local planning and zoning and would accept an alternate appointment to the SAPA committee or other openings on planning or zoning boards.
Councilors said they had received Dubois’s resume and that the council would consider his appointment at next week’s meeting. One councilor noted that John Jeffrey, who had previously been named to a role, was later found to be ineligible because of a separate zoning hearing board conflict, and that the borough still needed an alternate for the committee.
