Board approves staff hires, contracts, donations and transportation payments; votes recorded on hiring and transportation motions

At its Sept. 17 meeting, the Twinsburg City School District Board of Education approved a slate of personnel and operational items and took roll-call votes on key motions.
The board approved a motion accepting certified staff recommendations, classified staff recommendations, supplemental contracts and activity contracts pending satisfactory Ohio Revised Code background checks. The motion was moved by Missus Egan and seconded by Missus Davis; a roll-call vote was recorded as unanimous (5–0).
The meeting’s agenda included several other resolved items (donation from local apparel sales, approval of Officer Alondra Klein as an additional event security officer for $50 per hour, deletion of media-center items, a memorandum of understanding adding language on religious holidays to the support staff collective bargaining agreement, agreements for a student to attend an educational alternative program, approval of AI-driven TechCred training funding, first reading of revised policies, and determination of impractical transportation payments). A separate motion to determine impractical transportation for listed students was moved by Missus Hamilton and seconded by Missus Travis. The board recorded a unanimous roll-call vote (5–0) approving a payment of $607.15 per student for the listed students in accordance with Ohio Revised Code section 3327.01.
The board also voted to enter executive session to discuss appointment, discipline and compensation of public employees; that motion was moved by Missus Egan and seconded by Missus Hamilton. The board recessed into executive session later in the evening as announced.
