Twinsburg district posts 4.5-star local report card; graduation and gap-closing scored highest

Arlene (director of curriculum and technology) reported that the Twinsburg City School District’s 2024–25 local report card earned 4.5 stars overall, with the high school and several buildings receiving strong component scores and specific areas identified for follow-up.
“We earned four and a half stars,” Arlene said during the curriculum report, noting the district scored five stars for graduation and five stars for the gap-closing component. She told the board the performance index and value-added measures underpin the achievement and progress components, respectively.
The district highlighted particular strengths: a five-star graduation rating at Twinsburg High School and a five-star gap-closing result. Early literacy was weaker in aggregate: Wilcox Primary earned three stars on the early-literacy component, which Arlene and other administrators said will be a focus going forward.
A new statewide measure — college, career, workforce and military readiness (CCWMR) — was part of the 2024–25 calculation for the first time. Arlene said Twinsburg’s CCWMR score reflected the 2024 graduating cohort’s outcomes and that the district plans to make CCWMR a strategic curriculum priority. She noted the report card reflects data for earlier cohorts (the district is “in arrears” because scores use graduates from the prior year), so improvements made this school year will be reflected in later report cards.
Administrators said they are auditing data submitted to the Ohio Department of Education and plan targeted work on early literacy and career-readiness pathways, including training and reporting improvements. The board did not take any immediate policy votes during the presentation; the curriculum office will present strategic goals at an upcoming meeting.
