FAR seeks interns, hosts Community Power Lab; Halloween event and costume drive planned

Latricia Gals, executive director of FAR, updated the board on community programming and recruitment: the organization is recruiting for an internship cohort beginning the week of Oct. 21 and continues to accept applicants via email at stacy@farcville.org. Gals said community organizers can assist residents who lack online access to complete applications.
She also described a "Community Power Lab" session scheduled for this Thursday at 6 p.m., a resident-only convening where participants will form steering committees on topics such as youth, safety and maintenance and develop resident-led activities. "It's a designed space for residents to come and do resident led activities," Gals said.
Separately, a board member announced a Halloween "spectacular" organized with Prolific and City of Promise at Jenkins Park on Oct. 25 from 1 to 3 p.m., plus an ongoing costume drive and food pantry partnerships in several neighborhoods.
Ending: FAR and board members encouraged residents to apply for internships, participate in the Community Power Lab, and attend neighborhood events; staff offered to provide application assistance where needed.
