The Evansville City Board of Park Commissioners on April 16 approved an agreement with Rivertown Construction for site work preparing Fulton Park for a new playground.
Danielle, Parks Department staff, said the playground equipment is already procured and the site work is the final step before installation. Staff reported the playground installation is scheduled to begin in May with tentative completion in early June; surfacing work by Forever Lawn will follow.
Danielle said the playground is being relocated to the northeast corner of the park, closer to the fire station, to improve visibility and safety; maintenance crews will begin removing existing unsafe equipment immediately and the site work by the contractor will commence in May. The board approved the contract and the motion carried.
Staff will provide scheduling updates as construction progresses.
