Adam Novotny of the Indiana Farm Bureau told the committee he preferred the amendment be taken before testimony and later said the “amended language takes care of a lot of our concerns.”
Committee members said the amendment reflects many hours of negotiations with stakeholders. The changes aim to clarify when vegetation, signs or other obstructions must be trimmed or removed so that a traveling motorist does not have an obstructed view when approaching an intersection.
The amendment was taken by consent; the committee moved and seconded the bill and adopted it by roll call, reporting the measure as amended by a 12-0 vote.
