The Chandler Unified School District governing board approved a memorandum of understanding with the Greater Phoenix Chamber Foundation (Elevate ED Arizona) on March 26 to expand college‑and‑career alignment and support for students, parents and faculty.
Dr. Edgar presented the agreement and told the board the partnership “supports students, parents, administration, and faculty to prepare individuals for college and career for stronger alignment between education, business, and the community.” The administration said legal counsel reviewed the agreement before it was presented.
Board members spoke in favor of the effort; one board member noted the MOU includes development of career and technical education (CTE) pathways at the state level. The board voted unanimously to approve the agreement.
The MOU is presented as an interagency collaboration; the district did not request a contract payment in the board presentation. Administration said the memorandum formalizes ongoing conversations between district staff, local employers and workforce partners to align programs and provide student exposure to local career opportunities.
