Lease renewal: New Cingular Wireless (Shutterly Mill water tank) Council adopted an ordinance approving the fourth amendment to the 2005 lease allowing New Cingular Wireless PCS LLC to continue equipment on the Shutterly Mill water tank for an additional five years. The extension includes a 1.5% yearly increase on base rent, which was stated as $46,595 per year. The motion passed on a roll-call vote recorded as unanimous. Outcome: lease extension approved.
Closed meeting and certification Council entered a closed meeting to discuss acquisition of real property on Johnson Street where public discussion could adversely affect bargaining strategy; the closed meeting was held pursuant to cited Virginia Code authority.
