At the start of the Loveland City Council meeting, resident Sherry Hamlin of 118 Cannon Drive urged council to add a left-turn arrow and a permissive right-turn signal at the intersection of West Loveland Avenue and Lebanon Road to reduce congestion during peak periods and school-bus hours.
Hamlin said the intersection is a principal route for people traveling downtown and to nearby neighborhoods and that lack of a left-turn arrow from Lebanon Road toward the West Loveland Nature Preserve creates congestion. "When turning left from Lebanon onto West Loveland toward the West Loveland Nature Preserve, there is no left turn arrow," Hamlin said. She also asked the city to consider a permissive right-turn indication in the same manner the city installed at a different intersection, which she said "worked extremely well."
Hamlin asked the city to align the intersection change with ongoing efforts to make traffic signals more responsive to real-time conditions. The council thanked Hamlin for her remarks; no formal staff action or resolution was recorded on the transcript during the meeting. Councilmembers and staff acknowledged the request and the visitor's recommendation for staff review.
