Crick Hub Sports Academy introduced itself at the April 7 Lakeville City Council meeting and made a donation to the Parks and Recreation Youth Scholarship Fund to support access to programs for children.
Parks and Recreation Director Macy Archand welcomed the organization and invited its representatives to speak. Surya (surname not provided) said the academy has started coaching programs and is working with Lakeville-area elementary, middle and high schools to bring cricket coaching and tournaments to local schools. Pradeep (surname not provided) described the youth focus and noted the sport’s recent growth in the United States following a T20 World Cup held in the region.
Mayor Luke Hellyer and council members thanked the group. Council members noted a planned ribbon cutting next summer for Lakeville’s soon-to-be-built cricket pitch on Seaton Street and expressed appreciation for the donation toward youth scholarships.
No formal council action was required; the presentation and donation were acknowledged by the council.
