Isanti County approves six solid-waste collection licenses and one recycling-facility license

The county board approved six solid waste collection and transportation licenses and one recycling facility license on April 15, following a staff recommendation that all applicants met the application and ordinance requirements.
Trina Berglau, Zoning Administrator, said the applicants for collection and transportation licenses were Quality Disposal Systems, Walter's Recycling and Refuse, Jim's Mille Lacs Disposal, LePage and Sons, A Solid Waste, and Waste Management of Minnesota. Berglau recommended approval for all six companies; the board approved the licenses by motion.
Berglau also presented a separate recycling-facility license application from Waste Management of Minnesota. She said the recycling activity is on-site and used by the company's internal operations (not a public drop-off), and that the facility meets licensing requirements; the board approved that application as well.
No commissioners objected during the roll call. Berglau and the county attorney confirmed the licenses met county ordinance requirements.
