The Isanti County Board approved seven preliminary plats on April 15 that had been recommended by the county planning commission. Trina Berglau, Zoning Administrator, presented each request and summarized planning commission recommendations and conditions.
The plats and board actions included:
- Cross Creek Meadows (Stanford Township): proposed five lots totaling about 60 acres; approval carried with two conditions — showing a minimum 1-acre buildable area on each lot and submitting additional soil borings for transfer-of-development-rights parcels.
- Pine Meadow Estates (Spencer Brook Township): three lots (10.34, 14.22 and 10.44 acres); planning commission recommendation approved by the board.
- Weiseth Acres (Bradford Township): two lots (25.12 and 3.12 acres); approval subject to removal of all existing structures except a 20-by-20 pole-type structure before final plat recording.
- Maple Ridge Meadows (Maple Ridge Township): three lots in the AGRES district; planning commission recommended approval with no conditions and the board approved.
- Erickson's Acres rearrangement (Stanchfield Township): reconfiguration of two existing lots (15.76 and 3.27 acres); approval conditioned on submitting soil borings prior to final plat; planning commission vote had one dissenting member (Tim Swanson) though no reason was recorded.
- LaRoe's Woodlands (Isanti Township): 11-lot plat where two lots initially failed minimum lot-size requirements and one lot needed reconfiguration for road frontage; the applicant agreed to revise those lots; the board approved with five planning commission conditions. Commissioner LaRoe recused from discussion and vote; the record shows a 4–0 vote with one abstention.
- St. Joseph Junction (Bradford Township): seven lots of various sizes, including lots using transferred building rights; approval was granted with two conditions, one of which was later removed after the applicant submitted a revised plat showing a required 66-foot easement.
Public comments on several plats raised concerns about drainage, sight lines and public-safety impacts on County Road 10 in the Flamingo area; county highway staff said sight-distance and driveway spacing had been reviewed and vegetation clearing had been conducted where appropriate. The board approved each preliminary plat by motion, with stated conditions recorded in the planning commission findings and summarized by the zoning administrator.
