The Thurston County Board of County Commissioners confirmed a land-use appeal is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. and allotted an hour and a half on the agenda to accommodate presentations and discussion with county counsel.
"01:00, we're back for, the land use appeal, and that's an hour and a half is on that schedule," the chair said. Commissioners explained the block allows time for each side to present, counsel to confer, and post-presentation discussion. One commissioner noted time allotments: "They each get 15 minutes and and then we talk with the council." The board also said that the commissioners typically confer with counsel before and after oral arguments so the discussion is fresh in their minds.
Earlier in the session the board noted it had conducted interviews for Timberland Regional Library board of trustee applicants; those interviews were not part of the live-streamed portion of the meeting, the record shows. No vote or final decision on the appeal was recorded during the work session.
