Kershaw County awards $16.47 million contract to expand wastewater capacity; $10M SKIP grant to fund portion

The administrator and staff said the county expects a $10,000,000 award from the Rural Infrastructure Authority’s SKIP grant program to fund part of the project; the county’s share will cover the remaining cost.
Supporters said the expansion will improve the county’s ability to serve future growth and prospective industrial users. Council members praised the work of staff and the administrator and moved to accept the bid and authorize the county to proceed with contract execution.
