Omaha City Council approves routine liquor licenses, special-event permits and multiple redevelopment items in unanimous votes

The Omaha City Council voted unanimously on a series of routine licensing and redevelopment items, approving new and amended liquor licenses, a special-event permit, and multiple planning and financing measures. Most roll-call votes recorded a 7-0 tally in favor.

Those approvals included new Class C and Class A liquor licenses for small restaurants and bars across the city, an amended outdoor area for EarlyBird at Village Pointe, an expansion of NP Mart 19’s licensed area following a remodel, and a special designated liquor license for an outdoor music event at the Broke Down Palace amended to allow music until 1 a.m. The council also approved a set of planning and financing items on the consent and regular agendas, including tax-increment financing (TIF) plans and plat approvals.

Many of the licenses and permits included brief applicant remarks about planned openings, hours, or building improvements; in a handful of cases council members asked follow-up logistical questions (for example about kitchen hood work, sprinkler scope, and opening timelines) before voting.
