Denton City officials told residents at a virtual community meeting that construction for the Neighborhood 1B reconstruction project will begin next week and is expected to finish near the fourth quarter of 2026.
Senior Project Manager Dante Hale, City of Denton, said the project is part of the city's 2019 reconstruction bond program and will "rehab aging infrastructure" across about 22 streets and roughly 45 segments. Hale said the work will address nearly 2,500 linear feet of roadway and replace or rehabilitate approximately 10,000 linear feet of water main and about 17,000 linear feet of sewer main. He added that design work concluded in the fourth quarter of 2024 and that the contract was awarded in March.
