Zoltanski said community-development staff presented the plans to regional bodies last week and earned praise for the general-plan update, which includes planning for four light-rail (FrontRunner) stations and a pedestrian bridge connection. The mayor credited Community Development staff and singled out the plan as among the region’s stronger submissions.
The grant — described by the mayor as $200,000 to support a land-use code update — will fund work to translate the general-plan goals into updated development code. Zoltanski said the station-area plan work is the culmination of the city’s two-year Pace of Progress general-plan process.
The council did not take a formal action on the report; the mayor’s remarks served as an informational update and a recognition of staff work on long-range planning and grant-funded code work.
