Vietnamese reading-room pop-up ‘Ge Saq’ set for April 16–May 10 at 1521 S. Main; organizers seek community support

Nick Annette Miller, an organizer and partner with Eastland, told the commission that Rooms Annex will host a month-long pop-up reading room called Ge Saq from April 16 through May 10 at 1521 South Main Street.
“It's a pop up reading room in which we'll have literature on the walls by Vietnamese creatives featuring children's books, literature, nonfiction, fiction, good books, poetry,” Miller said. The project will feature community programming and a grand opening on Saturday, April 19. Miller said the project is working with the county library on possible film screenings and is seeking mental-health resources and multi-language outreach materials to share with visitors.
Miller said the event is initially supported by the Oklahoma Visual Arts Commission (OBAC) and will be at Rooms Annex in Midtown Tulsa; organizers asked the commission and other community partners to share information and consider outreach or directory connections to help publicize the effort.
What happens next: organizers will continue programming and outreach and requested commission help identifying translation and mental-health resources for immigrant and refugee communities who may attend.
