CAMPO kicks off 2025 regional transportation and coordinated human services plans; seeks public survey input

Kelly Norman, senior transportation planner for the Carson Area Metropolitan Planning Organization, presented a proposed process April 9 to update the regional transportation plan (RTP) and the coordinated human services plan, including a combined outreach approach and an online and paper survey intended to run from late April or May through early August.
Norman said the RTP was last updated in 2020 with an amendment in August 2024 and that federal guidance expects MPOs to update long-range plans at least every five years. "RTPs are required to be updated every 5 years, at least in a region like Campo," Norman said, and staff proposed a table of contents aligned with performance-based planning, a public survey, and an appendix-based project list to ease future amendments.
