Items adopted on consent included ordinances to vacate portions of the Oxford Addition Terrace subdivision (citing Virginia Code 15.2‑2272), amendments to previously adopted special‑use ordinances (for properties including 1807 Harwood Street and 1822 Ingram Avenue), a special‑use to permit food and beverage service at 2527 Stewart Avenue, and several UDC reviews including final review for an expansion at Reed Elementary School and conceptual reviews for Woodville Elementary School, two Shaco projects and a path forward for Amelia Street School. The consent agenda was adopted by roll call; commissioners were recorded as voting yes on the consent items as read into the record.
Public comment: A member of the public, Tangy Terry, spoke during the public hearing portion on a consent item related to Oxford Addition Terrace and expressed concern about loss of open space, wildlife displacement and neighborhood notification. Planning staff explained that reserved lots from the 1962 plat can be changed only through a legislative process and that if the reserve designation is removed the underlying R‑2 zoning would apply.
Outcome: The continuances were set for April 15 and May 6 as noted; the consent agenda items were forwarded to city council with staff recommendations and associated UDC recommendations where applicable.
