The commission approved moving $12,213.44 in insurance-recovery checks into the sheriff—s operating account to cover vehicle repairs and parts. Sheriff Roland presented the receipts and asked that the funds be placed in the proper lines; Commissioner Hessler moved the item and Commissioner Markle seconded. The motion passed by voice vote.
Highway Department budget amendments approved by voice vote included: $2,090 for scrap metal disposal; $785.51 for diesel fuel for the Justice Center generator; $94,146.62 for work at the Inali Archery Range; and $7,848.70 for a separate, not‑further‑specified highway expense. Each was moved and seconded on the record and approved.
The commission approved an emergency management budget amendment to record a $42,395.52 EMPG (Emergency Management Performance Grant) allocation for fiscal year 2024. Commissioner Markham moved the EMPG amendment and Commissioner Heslin seconded; the motion carried by voice vote.
On new business the commission approved a joint resolution from Columbia, Spring Hill, ThompsonStation and the counties of Maury and Williamson asking the Tennessee Department of Transportation and the Greater Nashville Regional Council to prioritize widening I‑65 from I‑840 to Bear Creek Pike. Commissioner Markham moved the resolution and Commissioner Burkhalter seconded; the motion was approved by voice vote and will be forwarded to the full commission.
Several other routine motions and departmental transfers were approved by the commission during the meeting. No recorded roll-call tallies were read into the record; outcomes were recorded as passed by voice vote.
