The Palmyra Area School District Board of Directors approved a set of 2025 capital projects recommended by the Buildings and Grounds committee. The projects listed on the agenda included Ford Road bus loop resurfacing, middle school sidewalk repairs in front of woodshed classrooms, North Side school signage, softball dugout replacement, outdoor learning spaces at Forge, and time-out room flooring at Pine and Northside schools.
The motion to approve the capital projects package was made by Mr. Jones and seconded by Mrs. Gilligan. The board approved the package by voice vote; no roll-call tally was recorded on the public record. The agenda states the projects will be completed for the amounts listed on the agenda, but the meeting minutes and public discussion did not specify the dollar amounts during the motion on the floor.
The Buildings and Grounds committee reported a March 13 meeting where a public comment had questioned a Northside Elementary sign. The next Buildings and Grounds meeting was announced for April 10. Board members did not debate the merits of each project at length during the full-board meeting; the committee’s recommendation was accepted by the board.
Because specific contract awards, vendor names, and dollar amounts were not read into the record during the motion, staff follow-up will be required to publish contract awards and timelines for each listed project.
