TAVA project: elevator and stairwork underway; planning approvals scheduled while CDOT access remains under discussion

The Woodland Park Downtown Development Authority heard an update on construction progress at the TAVA development and on outstanding permitting issues that could affect site access.
Mark, the TAVA project representative, told the DDA the site currently has extensive scaffolding for the elevator shaft and stairwell and that plumbing and service-line work will follow as those structures finish. He said the team is “slowly moving along” on construction and that the project is completing both a preliminary and final plat process.
The plat process is slated for a planning commission review on April 24 and final plat approval before city council on May 15, according to Mark. He said the project’s anticipated opening shifted to the first quarter of next year, adding, “It'll be first quarter of next year now,” but that dates depend on construction and weather.
On access, Mark said the team is “almost done with our two access permits” with the Colorado Department of Transportation but that one component tied to the Park Street and Highway 24 intersection remains in negotiation between CDOT and the city. He said the developer and city staff were trying to set a meeting in the next week or two to finalize outstanding items.
The brief update included no formal votes on the TAVA project. DDA members asked follow-up questions about schedule risk and whether the Bergstrom Park work would interfere with TAVA construction; city staff said the two efforts are expected to proceed concurrently.
