The Los Alamos Environmental Sustainability Board approved its April 17 meeting agenda and the minutes from its March 20 meeting and received several administrative updates, including a resignation and staff operational reports.
A motion to approve the April 17 agenda was made and seconded during the meeting and carried with the board's assent. Later the board moved to approve the March 20 minutes as amended and that motion was also seconded and approved.
Chair Jill announced that board member Jesse Derringer has stepped down because of other commitments and that the county will post the vacancy on the boards and commissions website; the board encouraged members to recruit potential applicants. Staff noted that applicants may apply at any time.
In reports, staff said County Council had approved a charge-point amendment to purchase six Level 2 EV chargers for placement in front of the municipal building; procurement is expected to be advertised by the end of the month and construction could begin this summer. A board member reported that the Board of Public Utilities had passed a time-of-use rate; the board discussed rotating the liaison responsibility to the Board of Public Utilities because the role is a heavy lift for one person.
The chair said Gary Goddard, the new airport manager, will present at a future meeting about net-zero efforts and energy audits the airport has undertaken, and staff said they will circulate a scheduling poll for a possible airport tour. The meeting closed after a brief preview of upcoming agenda items.
